Chancel Choir

Chancel Choir is the choir primarily responsible for presenting anthems and other service music on a weekly basis in the 10:00 am Worship Service. Additionally, the group prepares special services such as those during Advent, Lent, and Easter. This group ranges in age from teens to seniors. Chancel Choir meets for rehearsal on Wednesday evenings, 7:30-9:00 pm in the Choir Room on the lower level, and again for pre-service preparation on Sunday mornings at 9:30 am.

There is no audition for membership, but there is a commitment to worship, fellowship, and fun. Membership is open at all times. Through the Fall and Spring Semesters of the school year, students from local universities supplement the membership of the Chancel Choir through the generosity of the St. Mark Scholarship Program.

Chancel Bells

The St. Mark Ringers is the leading choir of St. Mark UMC bell program. It consists of 15 dedicated players who meet each Wednesday following family supper to prepare music to enhance the worship experience at St. Mark. The bell program is blessed to have a five-octave set of Schulmerich handbells, five-octave set of Schulmerich hand chimes, and a four-octave set of Petit and Fritsen Dutch handbells. The group is always looking for new ways to learn to play and integrate different playing techniques. The group occasionally attends handbell festivals and workshops. This group plays often in the worship service from September to June. This group is under the direction of Mrs. Beth Heath.
